Personal Funeral (Direct Cremation)
With a sudden surge in the requests for direct cremations following the pandemic, and now the cost-of-living crisis, we here at Country Funerals like to deliver these a little differently. We want to make sure that someone’s loved one is given the final journey they deserve, even if nobody is in attendance.
Offering a warm and friendly independent service in the tranquil surroundings of the village of Westwell near Ashford, Kent, we will plan your funeral with you and help organise a pre-paid funeral plan to suit your needs.
From first phone call through to the cremation itself, we are on hand to help families. There are pieces of paperwork that must be completed, and these can be done here with us or over the telephone.
A plate and rose will be placed onto the coffin on the day of the cremation, and we still make the drive to Charing Crematorium in our hearse. We will walk the hearse down the driveway and ensure a piece of music they loved is played as they enter the chapel. We will then stay and listen to the music for a few moments before closing the curtains ourselves, making sure that the person is not alone whilst in the chapel.
We offer the service of collecting the ashes and bringing them back to us here until the family wish to come and collect and place their loved one in a spot where they will always be remembered.
Everyone deserves a final celebration of their life, and if this is the journey that is planned for them, we want to make sure that they take it in the best way they can.
